Just to clear your head, step out of the daily rhythm: the Veluwe offers plenty of opportunities to unwind, relax and enjoy. If you step out of Herberg de Zwaan you are within 5 minutes in nature that lends itself to wonderful walking or cycling.
Elspeet is surrounded by vast forests and moors and cozy villages such as Vierhouten and Nunspeet in the vicinity. Besides and opposite us you can (electric) bikes or an e-chopper rent at Hazeleger or Vlijm bikes.
Using the extensive network of hiking and biking nodes, you can map out your own route, or you can take a guided nature excursion or wildlife safari.
Places within walking and biking distance are the smallest town in the Netherlands with its stylish estate, Staverden (5 km), Vierhouten (7 km), Nunspeet (10 km), Ermelo (13 km), as well as fishing town Harderwijk (14 km), royal Apeldoorn (20 km) or fortified town of Elburg (20km).
Not biking or hiking for a while? Then perhaps relax at wellness center the Zwaluwhoeve in Hierden, Saunadrôme in Putten or the Veluwse Bron in Emst. Or walk the barefoot path or attend a singing bowl concert at center de Ruimte in Vierhouten. A ball hitting on the Rijk van Nunspeet, or an activity at outdoor center Nunspeet.
Evening dining with a nice glass of wine in our restaurant the Spijslokaal (Tuesday to Saturday) or in Elspeet. Also the surrounding towns you will find many restaurants. Plenty of choice!
